Letting the Light Move

In Mark Nepo's The Book of Awakenings, he quotes the following passage from The Secret of the Golden Flower:

"When the dark is at rest, the light begins to move."

The darkness in this quote can be seen as a symbol of our human tendency to stop the light from freely flowing into our lives by trying to control, manipulate, make up stories, excuses, etc… to any given issue, problem or situation. While we become busy trying to control things, the light is unable to find a way through, but once we lay down the need to control, the light is able to help us get back on track and find our way. How have you experienced letting go of the darkness so the light might move again?
