Growing

I can't say enough good things about Mark Nepo's writings. I was hooked from the second I read the first page of The Book of Awakening. I'm so excited to read his latest, The Endless Practice - Becoming Who You Were Born to Be. Here is a meaningful line from the first page: "...the journey of becoming who we were born to be never ends. It's limitless, eternal. We don't arrive – we grow."

This thought is so contradictory to how I thought life would go. In my younger years, I thought I would have arrived at quite a different place by now. After all, middle age means nearing retirement, paid mortgages and lush vacations, right? Well, that hasn't been my experience and in many regards, I'm just getting started with my life's work. Like being on a boat in calm water, Mark's words assure me that it's not about arriving, it's about growing, and that, I can do.

When you turn around and look at your journey, notice the growth. What is it like to acknowledge all you have been and all you have learned? One thing I've learned along the way, everyone has a fascinating story to tell. What is your story of growth?
